Seldon Brewer, age 85, of Troy, OH died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Grandview Hospital, Dayton, OH. He was born October 18, 1922 in Hazard, KY to the late Simon Brewer and Fanny Stacy Brewer. He was married to Rachel Jones Brewer who preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Burley Combs of Hazard, KY; Jeanette Harvey Cromes of Troy, OH; Bonnie James Barger of New Carlisle, OH; Glenna Frank McLemore of Troy, OH; Brenda Brewer of Troy, OH; and Jewel Murphy of Troy, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Virgil Betty Brewer of Fairborn, OH and sister, Tilda Mae Grigsby of Hazard, KY; one grandson, three granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and four great-granddaughters. In addition to his parents and his spouse, he was preceded in death by sister, Thelma Smith and brother, Herbert Brewer. He was a retired cool miner from Kentucky. Funeral service will be held 10:30AM Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Baird Funeral Home Troy, OH with interment in Casstown Cemetery Casstown, OH. Friends may call on the family at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH from 6-8PM Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart, Diabetes, or Lung Associations.
