Scott A. Lanning, age 53, of Tipp City, OH, passed away on November 26, 2025 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit after a brief illness. He was born on January 17, 1972, in Athens, OH to William and Carolyn Lanning of Troy.

In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by his children: Katie Lanning of Troy, Micah Lanning of Troy , and Josie Lanning of Casstown;  and brother: John Lanning of Maiden, NC.

Scott is a graduate of Miami East High School and Edison State Community College. He worked as a civil engineer for various firms, both local and throughout Ohio in that capacity. Scott attended The Valley Church in Troy.

Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home of Troy. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at The Valley Church, Troy, with Pastor Mark Coulter officiating. Friends may call from 10-11AM on Saturday at the church.

The family wishes to recognize Danielle Lanning, Sally Doud, Matt Kroplin and Miami County Hospice for their support and loving care. The family also requests donations be given to Miami County Hospice in lieu of other forms of contributions.
