Sarah Minerva Kennedy Watson, age 97, of Tipp City passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was born on March 15, 1928, in Casstown, Ohio, to the Harley Firman Kennedy and Melvina Ellen Kennedy, née Vandeveer. She was married to Harry Alvin Watson for 44 years until his death in 1990.
Sarah is survived by her children: Chuck (Vickie) Watson of Keller, TX, Don Watson of Tipp City, and Martha (Donnie) Jackson of Punta Gorda, FL; nine grandchildren: Melissa (Kevin) Vaughn, Christine (Kyle Thompson) Matthews, James (Toni) Matthews, Elizabeth (Jordan) Kramer, Sterling (Kristen) Watson, Heidi (Patrick) Hill, Holly Watson, Landon Watson, and Victoria (Brian) Welch; eleven great grandchildren: Matthew Vaughn, Andrea Vaughn, Dominique Thompson, Andy Yee (son of Christine and Kyle), Amelia Thompson, Hailey Matthews, Elijah Matthews, Ella Matthews, Molly Kramer, Owen Kramer, and Kennedy Welch.
She was also preceded in death by granddaughter Emily Watson, and siblings: Irene Penewit, Mae Peoples, Forrest Kennedy, and Lucille Kennedy.
Sarah was a member of Tipp City Global Methodist Church and a former member of Tipp City Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed farming, cooking, traveling, and going to the YMCA. She graduated from Miami East High School (Elizabeth School).
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Tipp City Global Methodist Church. Livestreaming of the service at https://youtube.com/live/HsM2h-fE384?feature=share . The family will receive friends for the viewing prior to the service from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery.
