SARAH E. BUIRLEY, age 96, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Brookdale in Piqua.  She was born on March 14, 1924 in New Carlisle, OH to the late Lowell and Effie (Lucas) Sentman.  Sarah married Clifford E. Buirley and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2000.

Sarah is survived by three children: Pamela Miller, Diana (Norman) Yantis and Gary (Li Ming) Buirley, all of Troy; one sister: Betty Apple; four grandchildren; one step grandchild; two great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson: Barton Demmit in 2017; and one great granddaughter: Evelyn Hazel.

Sara was a former employee of JC Penny's, Sears and Edgar H. Smith and Son Florist in Troy.  She was a member of Troy Church of the Brethren in Troy and Troy Senior Citizens Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Jon Keller officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
