Santford K. Broughton Santford K. Broughton, age 90, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 5:44AM on Friday, July 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born on December 9, 1919 in New Boston, Ohio to the late Grant and Pearl Evens Broughton. He married Mary Pearl Meek Broughton on January 1, 1946 and she preceded him in death on November 1, 2002. He is survived by one brother, James Broughton of Troy, Ohio and one sister, Goldie Stith of Bournville, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Roy Broughton and three sisters, Delores Lykens, Dorothy Overcash and Eunice Morris. Santford was a WWII veteran of the US 11th Air Force. He was a member of Troy Baptist Temple where he was head usher for over 30 years. Santford was a warehouseman for Dayton Power and Light for 30 years before his retirement in 1962. He had been a resident of Troy for over 60 years. Services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Troy Baptist Temple, Troy with Pastor David Mulvaine officiating. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio with VFW Memorial Honor Guard at the graveside. Friends may call from 4-7:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
