KENNEY, SANDRA LEE  (SANDY) age 71, of New Carlisle, OH, passed away suddenly Monday, August 18, 2014, at Miami Valley Hospital.  She was born in Canajoharie, New York, on August 18,1943, the daughter of Paul and Florence (Onderdonk) Lyman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandparents, Jay and Dorothy (St. John) Onderdonk.  She is survived by her daughter, Robin Kenney, son, Randall Kenney, grandsons, Mitchell, Colin, Jon Kenney, and Peter Hale, sister and brother-in-law Patricia (Lyman) and David Banaszak, and brothers Larry (Kathy) Lyman and Michael (Joyce) Lyman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Ann Schall. Sandy worked for many years in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Key West, Florida, Cape Cod, MA, and Ohio as a bookkeeper for many businesses and nursing homes. She retired in 2010. After that she volunteered for Family and Youth Initiatives and loved helping all the clients and people who came for help.  She was "Mom" for many teens and young adults who simply needed someone to talk to.  Her big heart was known to so many and she was loved by all who knew her.  Her special gifts included her love of  knitting and she made many blankets and booties for many friends and especially for the babies of  FYI.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 205 West Lake Street, New Carlisle, OH 45344 on August 22 at 1pm.   The family will receive friends from 12-1pm.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be given to Family and Youth Initiatives, 468 Dayton Lakeview Rd., New Carlisle, OH 45344.  Condolences can be expressed online by going to baridfuneralhome.com.
