Ruth Miriam Spears, age 87 of Troy, Ohio died Friday, March 28 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Born of the late Er Pearson and Ethel Van Tyle Pearson in Troy, Ohio. She was married to the late Floyd L. Spears on December 26, 1936 in Shoals, Indiana. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Sue and Carl Shoup; Betty Lou and Tom Kirk; Jane Ann and Dennis McDaniel and sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Lee and Carol Spears and Howard Mackey and Nancy Spears; sister, Mary Hobbs; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Barbara Pearson; seven grandsons and seven granddaughters; 22 great-grandchildren and seven step-greatgrandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, one grandson and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Spears was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy and Class 12 of the church. She was a 1934 graduate of Troy High School. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
