Ruth Elizabeth Shock, age 103 of Tipp City, Ohio died Thursday, July 19, 2001. Preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Clark Roseboom and Jennie Teter Roseboom; husband, Irvin Elsworth Shock; son, Robert Jerome Shock; two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by daughter, Virginia Benham; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Shock; grandsons and their wives, Frank Richard and Jayne Benham; Chris and Cindy Bowling; Robert Jerome Jr. and Chrissy Shock; Duane and Sherry Shock; granddaughters and their husbands, Vicki Waddingham; Joan Yount; Debbie Bird; Mary Beth and Tyler George; Ruth Anderson; Rita and Rod Boyer and Lorrie Heslet; 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She attended Tipp City Church of Nazarene; taught Sunday School for Cove Springs Church; Charter member and first president of Maple Hill Club; Member of Smile-A-While Club, Troy; Honorary member of Tipp City Senior Citizens. Mrs. Shock attended Dayton State Hospital in 1917 and Fordham University School of Nursing, New York, NY from where she graduated in 1919. She was a health nurse for the City of Dayton and former nurse with Stouder Memorial Hospital and T.B. Health Nurse for Miami County.
