Obituary

Ruth "Carolyn" Mitchell, age 75, of Christiansburg, OH., passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Kettering Hospital in Troy, Ohio.  She was born August 16, 1946, in Springfield, OH, to the late Henry Elijah and Missouri Mae (Rose) Allen.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 56 years: Virgil "Junior" Mitchell; sons and daughters-in-laws: Tony Lee (Melissa) Mitchell of Christiansburg, Philip Allan (Shannon) Mitchell of Trotwood and Gloria Mitchell of DeGraff; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Ronald Eugene Mitchell of DeGraff and her brother, William H. Allen and sisters, Hannah M. Hill, and Violet S. Stager.

Carolyn was a graduate of Jackson High School and a member of the Christiansburg Women's Auxiliary Committee with 50 years of service to her community.  She worked for years at the family restaurant before taking positions in manufacturing plants in the Miami and Preble County areas.  Finally retiring from Nitto of Piqua in 2018.

Services to be at 11 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, OH.  Visitation for family from 9-10 a.m., public from 10-11 a.m., funeral services to follow visitation.  Graveside services to be conducted at Casstown Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CBN Ministry.
