Ruth Elizabeth Goodwin, age 85, of Troy, passed from this world to be with the Lord on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.  She was born on July 2, 1937, in Quincy, MA, to the late Richard and Henrietta (Romans) Kiley.

Ruth is survived by her devout husband of 65 years: Elwood Goodwin; daughters: Karen (Keith) Klingler and Christine Goodwin; sons: Gary (Julie) Goodwin of TN and Daniel (Holly) Goodwin of MS; grandchildren: Jessica (Jake) Meckstroth, Mallory (Tyler) Dickey, Clarissa Dickey, Kyle Dickey, Vivian Goodbar, Genevieve Dickey, Jarrett Goodwin and Macy Goodwin; and great granddaughter: Misa Dickey-Fleming.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Robert.

Ruth was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy and also attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City.  She graduated from the Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse in 1955 in the top 20% of her class.  Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and kind to everyone she met. She kept her beautiful Boston accent and her compassionate charm throughout her whole life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering for causes she believed in. While we remember and grieve her here on earth, may the heavens be rejoicing her homecoming.

Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Troy.
