RUTH A. "RUTHIE" VORIS

Ruth A. "Ruthie" Voris, age 87, of Troy, OH passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at SpringMeade Health Center, Tipp City.  Ruth was born on June 25, 1929 in Troy, OH to the late Lloyd C. and Anna Mary (Staley) Allen.  She was married to William E. Voris for 60 years and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2008

Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Pam and Gayle Waldrop of Ft. Worth, Texas and Marilyn and John Updike of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kathy Voris of Troy; seven grandchildren: Jeff (Brandi) Updike, Jennifer Myers, Megan Voris, Dana (Nathan) Leonard, Nathan (Christina) Voris, Christina (Brent) Wells and David Waldrop; nine great-grandchildren: Theo Updike, Caeli Updike, Sofie Myers, Jonah William Myers and Hayden Nathanial Myers, Olive and Urban Leonard, Veda & Barrett Voris; brother and sister-in-law: Bruce and Delores Allen of Tipp City; sister: Shirley Davis of Troy. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by sisters: Jo Ann Allen and Juanita Newman; half-sister: Betty Evans and one grandchild: Ashton Updike.

She was a 1947 graduate of Troy High School.  She was a member of the Troy Church of the Nazarene.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Troy Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeff Rollison officiating.  Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy at a later date.  The family will receive friends from 1:00PM – 2:00PM  on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Nazarene, 1200 Barnhart Road, Troy, OH 45373.
