Roy L. Pennington, 82, of Troy, Ohio died on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at the Piqua Manor, Piqua, Ohio. He was born on October 14, 1923 in Keokee, Virginia to the late Fred and Rose Robbins Pennington. He married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Fisher and she precedes him in death, May 7, 1995. He is survived by two children, Brenda Sue Arnett of Piqua, OH; Donald P. Pennington of Troy, OH; sister, Aleene Travis of Caloosa, CA; brother, Clarence Pennington of Pennington Gap, VA; sister-in-law; Nadine Pennington of Mooresville, IN; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, James Edward Pennington, 1996; brothers, Rudolph and Eugene and sisters, June and Thelma. He was a member of the Sidney Apostolic Church; Veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII; VFW Post #5436 and the Troy Fish and Game Club. He formerly played professional baseball with the Chicago Cubs. He was a graduate of Keokee Schools. He retired from A.O. Smith after 33 years of service as a Tool & Dye maker. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 2:00PM at the Sidney Apostolic Church, Sidney, Ohio with Pastor Robert L. Fries officiating. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio with special Honor Guard Service at the graveside.
