Roy H. Evert, age 79, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 9:34AM on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born on November 12, 1930 in Tremont, Pennsylvania to the late Roy and Mildred Paul Evert. His wife, Shirley P. Miller Evert, survives. He is also survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn and Michael O'Brien of Waterloo, Iowa and Sandra and David Wicks of Lynn Haven, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Mike Lau of York, Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren: David E. and Amy L. Laguna both of Lynn Haven, Florida. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin; sister, Mary and infant sister, Victoria. He earned a Bachelors Degree from East Stroudsburg College and served for four years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Roy was employed by Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the US Air Force before retiring from Prudential Insurance Company. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Troy and the WACO Area Flyers Model Airplane Club. Services will be held at 7:00PM on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev.
