Rosemary Hall Grimes, age 87, of Christiansburg, Ohio died on her husband's birthday Saturday, November 27, 2010 at SpringMeade Retirement Community, Tipp City. She was born February 20, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William Douglas and Louise Amelia Smith Hall. Her family moved to Dayton and Rosemary graduated from Oakwood High School and Denison University with a degree in Social Work. She married Burleson Burley Grimes on September 20, 1947 and they lived on a farm in Champaign County farming the land and raising their six children. Her husband was killed July 11, 1982. After that she did some traveling with her dear friends Gladys Williams and Janet Pansing. Rosemary went back to school, attending Wright State University and in 1986 got her Masters in Mental Health Counseling and in 1987 a Masters in Art Therapy. She then worked for a number of years at Dartmouth Hospital. Rosemary loved to entertain, garden, play tennis, golf and loved opera. She loved to walk in the woods especially in the spring hunting morels and enjoying the spring wild flowers; she instilled her love of nature in her children and grandchildren. She was a very artistic, versatile woman who will be remembered by all. Preceded in death by her husband, Burley and a son, John. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Lucy Kyle and John Sanders; Louise Amelia Grimes Bietendorf; and her sons and daughters-in-law, Burleson and Deborah, Douglas and Andrea, and Charles and Janice. Also survived by her grandchildren, John Prescott SaraSanders, Kyle A. LaurenSanders, Aaron Burleson Grimes, Elizabeth S. Grimes, Burleson Arthur Grimes, Rose Marie Grimes, and Rosemary Lee Bietendorf; and two great-grandchildren, Madeline Rachel and Topher Prescott Sanders. Services will be held 10:30AM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Richard Culp officiating. Interment to follow in Honeycreek Cemetery, Christiansburg, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00-10:30AM Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Friends may express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com. The family would like to say thank you to all the staff on Freedom Court at SpringMeade for all the care and love shown to their mother.
