Obituary

Rosemary "Susie" (Brown) Gheen, age 93, of Troy, OH, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at SpringMeade Health Center in Tipp City. She was born on December 7, 1930, in Troy to the late Roy C. Brown Sr. and Audrey (Lauber) Brown.

Susie is survived by her sons, Stan G. Gheen of Troy and Steven D. Gheen and his wife, Nichole, of Greenbrier, TN; her sister, Lora Lee Kingham of Troy; her grandchildren, Trenton and HanaJo Gheen of Greenbrier, TN, and Mykala Gheen (Rylan and Raleigh Smith) of Columbus, OH; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Donald E. Gheen; her brothers, Frederick J. "Bud" Brown and Roy C. Brown Jr.; and her sister, Carol Jordan.

A 1948 graduate of Troy High School, Susie was formerly employed with Hobart Cabinet Company in Troy. She later moved from the city to the country, where she embraced her role as a homemaker, finding joy in canning vegetables and growing beautiful flowers.

Susie was an avid Buckeye fan, loved to ice-skate, and played the accordion with enthusiasm. Her vibrant personality and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed. She was the best Me-Maw to her grandchildren and never missed a chance to congratulate or reward them with a hug and a smile.

A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Troy on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM, where friends and family are invited to share memories and honor her legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ohio's Hospice Miami County in Susie's memory. Donations can be made thru the Ohio Hospice website at www.ohioshospice.org .

Rosemary "Susie" (Brown) Gheen will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
