Ronald R. Weaver Sr.

Ronald R. Weaver Sr., age 70, of Casstown, Ohio died Sunday, April 06, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born May 25, 1943 in Troy, Ohio to the late John C. and Bonnie (Rudisill) Weaver.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol E. (Dankworth) Weaver.   In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Matt) Helke of Troy, Ohio, Ronald R. Weaver Jr. of Casstown, Ohio and Tiffany Long of  Englewood, Ohio; brother, Timothy Weaver of  Troy, Ohio; sister-in-law, Pat Davis of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren, Jacob Clark, Nathan Helke, Sarah Helke and Cara Long and special friend, Doug Jackson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Weaver and a sister, Connie Howell.
Ron was a 1961 graduate of Miami East High School.  He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.  He was a private pilot and glider pilot. He loved sailing and restoring Model T cars, homes and the Lostcreek Elementary School.  He traveled all 50 states and Europe and wintered in Florida for 20 years along with his wife.
Ron was a retired City of Troy firefighter and in his retirement he worked at Bushong Restaurant Equipment Company.
Funeral services will be held 6:00PM on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Rev.
