ROBERTA L. (PERSINGER) BEST

Roberta L. (Persinger) Best, age 73, of Piqua, OH, formerly of Westfield, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.  She was born in Hurricane, WV on March 25, 1942 to the late Basil B. and Mary Etta (Dudley) Persinger.  Her husband, William M. Best, survives.

Roberta is also survived by one sister: Frances Dankworth of Troy, OH; one half brother: Clay E. Step of Melbourne, FL; three brothers-in-law: Quentin G. Best, Peter B. Best and Harry M. Best; two sisters-in-law: Trudy Thompson and Bridget Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.  In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by three brothers: Basil Gene Persinger, Ray Ruby and William R. Persinger; and two sisters: Wanda L. Persinger and Charlene K. Bridges.

Roberta was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.  She loved playing bingo and fishing.  Roberta also loved collecting bears, music boxes and water globes.  She was formerly employed with Quality Market, Bakery Department, in Westfield, NY.

Services will be at 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. John Hughes officiating.  Private interment will be in Westfield Cemetery in Westfield, NY.  Friends may call from 3-5 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
