Robert E. Thobe, age 66, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at his residence.  He was born on September 5, 1947 to the late Aloysius J. and Volunta L. (Steineman) Thobe.

Robert is survived by one son; step daughters: Mary and Ann; four brothers: Aloysius (Linda) Thobe, Jr., Piqua, Michael Thobe, Circleville, Thomas (Janine) Thobe, Warrenton, NC, and Joseph (Tracy) Thobe, Piqua; and eight sisters: Ann (James) Beyke, St. Henry, Margaret Evans, Troy, Carolyn (Steven) Wilson, Mason, Mary (David) Shock, Tipp City, Cynthia (Mark) Wright, Piqua, Joan (Michael) Gibson, Cummings, GA, Nancy (Daniel) Jones, Columbus, and Julie (Joseph) Cogliano, Kettering; and one sister-in-law: Mary Thobe, Covington. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother: Dennis Thobe; one sister: Patricia Thobe; one stepson: David; and brother-in-law: Ferman Evans.

Robert was a veteran of the US Army.  He retired in 2010 from Energizer in Sidney.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service.
