Robert W. Sutherly Robert W. Sutherly, age 75 of Troy, Ohio died Monday, July 8, 2013 at 12:17AM at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on June 6, 1938 in Troy, to Catherine Miller Sutherly of Troy, and the late Wesley Sutherly. His wife of 47 years, Bonnie Slaughter Sutherly, survives. In addition to his mother and his wife, Robert is survived by his three children and their spouses: Jim and Pam Sutherly of Casstown, Ohio, Sam and Laura Sutherly of Troy, and Molly and Tavis Shane of Fletcher, Ohio; four siblings and their spouses: Richard and Rita Sutherly of Troy, Barbara and Tom Fulton of Troy, John Sutherly of Troy, and William and Carol Sutherly of Troy; seven grandchildren: Katrina, Wesley, and Jimmy Sutherly, Emma and Samuel Sutherly, and Jackson and Josie Shane; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; infant brother, James Sutherly; and granddaughter, Breann Sutherly. He was a graduate of Miami Central Schools and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Sciences from The Ohio State University. He was a member of The Ohio State University Livestock Judging Team. He served in the US Air Force Reserves, and had served in active duty during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of Cove Spring United Church of Christ and was a member of the men's quartet at the church. Robert was a lifelong area farmer, and co-owner of the Miami Valley Feed & Grain in New Carlisle, Ohio. Services will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-8PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
