Robert A. "Bob" Shiltz, age 76, of Troy, Ohio passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born December 31, 1934 in Troy, Ohio to the late George P. and Maxine Stone Shiltz. He married Shirley J. Anderson Shiltz, his wife of 56 years of marriage and she survives. He is also survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Tom Bigelow of Troy, Sandy and Mark Estes of Troy; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jennifer Shiltz of Troy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Jim Carpenter of New Carlisle, Judith and Robert Bloomfield of Oak Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Darlene Shiltz of Troy, Gary and Donna Shiltz of Troy; six grandchildren, Matt and Katie Bigelow, Corey, Jason, Hope and Adam Shiltz; his aunt, Marian Ward of Piqua and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob attended Lostcreek Schools. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy; member of Staunton and Pomona Granges; Troy Fish & Game Club; and the Good Sam Camping Group. He was a US Army Veteran and he retired from the City of Troy in 1993 after 37 years. Services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:30AM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Rev Stephanie Haines officiating. Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. The family will receive friends from 4-8PM Monday March 14, 2011 at the funeral home. Grange Service will be held at 7:30PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the First United Church of Christ in care of the Relay for Life Team or The Share-A-Meal Program.
