Robert S. McCool, age 91, formerly of Troy, Ohio died on March 4, 2003. He was born on February 27, 1912 in Miami County, Ohio. The son of Roy and Martha Zollinger McCool, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Tri-State University in 1933. He was a member of the Tau Sigma Eta Honorary Engineering Society and the Beta Phi Theta national fraternity. Certified as a professional senior engineering technician, McCool did facilities and air conditioning engineering work for the Frigidaire Division of General Motors in Dayton, Ohio for 26 years. He was the Director of Staff Facilities Engineering at Treasure Island Navy Base in San Francisco, California where he retired in 1982 after 16 years of service. McCool was a member of the Bradford Masonic Lodge and an active member of the First Baptist Church in Troy, Ohio and in Lake Placid, Florida. Married to Ruth D. Scott McCool in 1939, he is survived by his wife; one son, Glen E. McCool of Covington, Ohio; one daughter, Barbara J. LeMay of Mason, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters-in-law,Lillian McCool in Port Charlotte, FL; Frances McCool in Holly Hills, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Glen, Herbert and Harold. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 11 at 10:00am at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with services following at 11:00am. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Covington, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Lake Placid, Florida on March 19 at 11:00am.
