ROBERT J. MADIGAN, age 84, of Troy, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.  He was born on November 21, 1932 in Wapakoneta to the late James P. and Catherine (Noonan) Madigan

Robert is survived by one sister: Rita (Gene) Groff of Tipp City; two sisters-in-law: Evelyn Madigan of Troy and Josi Madigan of Sarasota, FL; and twenty six nieces, and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Thomas and Daniel Madigan; two sisters: Catherine Moloney and Mary Jane Moyer; two brothers-in-law: Richard Moyer and Dick Moloney; and sister-in-law: Sue Madigan.

Robert was a 1950 graduate of Troy High School.  He proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during the Korean War.  He served on the USS Holmes County.  Robert was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.  He was also a member of Troy Elks, where he was a Trustee, and Troy Fish and Game.  Robert was an avid UD Basketball fan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Rev. Fr. James Duell as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  VFW Memorial Honor Guard will provide honor guard services at the cemetery.  Friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday and 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.  Troy Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service will be at 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
