Robert Franklin Lewis, age 77, formerly of Tipp City and Troy, Ohio died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at the St, Marys Living Center, Grand Rapids, Michigan after and eight month illness. Robert was born April 12, 1927 in Marion, Ohio to the late, Franklin and Marie Lewis. He married Martha I. Durnell on August 31, 1957 in Troy, Ohio. Robert and Martha relocated to Michigan in May of 2004 where Martha survives. Robert is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary Lee and Sheryl Price Lewis of Troy, Ohio and daughter and son-in-law, Tina Marie and Tom Dupont of Rockford, Michigan and two grandchildren, Robert Lewis Dupont and Lydia Marie Dupont. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Todd of Marion, Ohio. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Troy, he was a WWII US Army Veteran having served in the European Theater from July, 1945 through March, 1947. He was a 1945 graduate of Tipp City High School and furthered his education in Tool and Die Design and Draftsman courses. He retired after 30 years of service from A.O. Smith Company in Tipp City, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Baird Funeral Home, 555 N. Market Street, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. James C. Wilson II officiating. Interment in Mimai Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio with veteran honor guard services at the graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8PM Friday, January 7, 2005. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzeimers Association.
