Michael Knight, age 78, of Troy, OH passed away on August 29, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Piqua to the late Robert and Rita Ann (Millbourn) Knight.

He is survived by his wife of over 53 years: Sue Knight; and brother: John Knight of Piqua, as well as a niece and nephew; several dear cousins and friends; special friends: Angie and Mike Avey and devoted Westies: Jack and Nora.

Mike was a graduate of Piqua High School and Sinclair and Capital Universities. He served in the US Airforce.  He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Troy.  On September 23, 1995, he was ordained a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and served the people of both St. Patrick and St. Boniface Churches in that capacity.  A true servant of God, Mike particularly sought to bring comfort and assistance to disadvantaged and hurting persons and those with intellectual disabilities, and to always quietly invite others into God's presence.   He volunteered with a number of organizations including the Chaplaincy Program at UVMC Hospital and the Miami County Advocacy Program. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mike was employed for many years at the Hobart Brothers Company where he served as head of the payroll department and made life-long friends.  He later retired as business manager for St. Patrick Church.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, Troy, Ohio on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10:30 AM. Family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass and immediately following at the luncheon in the Parish Center.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Soup Kitchen, the fundraising campaign for the new Miami County Animal Shelter, The Troy Foundation, or donor's favorite charity.
