Robert L. Howard, age 81, of Piqua, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at his residence.  He was born on March 11, 1943, in Troy, to the late Robert and Pauline A. (Cavanaugh) Griffieth.

Robert is survived by his best friend: Kelly Roark of Troy; children: Katrina Gingerich of Sidney, Joshua Clay (Amber) Howard of Troy and Misty (Michael) Howard Shoemaker of Greenville; one sister: Emma Pribenow of GA; one half-sister: Carol Arnold of OH; 23 grandchildren; and 49 great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one daughter: Tammy Howard Brown; one brother: Doug Griffieth; and two sisters: Peggy Griffieth and Emily Jean White.

Robert proudly served his country as a member of the US Army 82nd Airborne.  He was an avid fisherman, a member of both  the National Wildlife Association and Wounded Warrior Project.  Robert was a sheet metal worker and worked at a recycle center.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on December 30, 2024 at Baird Funeral Home. Family will greet friends following the service.
