Robert R. Garber, 58, of Troy, Ohio died on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at the Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio after a sudden illness. He was born on January 15, 1947 in Dover, Ohio to Don and Lois Shepfer Garber. He is survived by his parents, Don and Lois Garber of Strasburg, Ohio; mother of his children and former wife, Lynn Dreher of Mansfield, Ohio; special friend, Donna Taylor of West Carrolton, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law; Chad & Laura Garber of Columbus, Ohio; daughter Carrie Garber and partner, Eric Hayes of Durango, Colorado; brother and sister-in-law; Terry and Sherri Garber of Strasburg, Ohio; and sister, Jeanne Quinlan of Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Garber. He attended Franklin Street Baptist Church and BPOE of Elks #833; Troy Fish and Game and Burkner Society of Nature Carvers. He was a graduate of Ashland College. He was director of Management information systems at Crane Pumps. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 7:00PM at Baird Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Strasburg, Ohio. There will be a special service on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 2:00PM with calling hour prior to service at Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Court officiating. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, December 1, 2005 from 5-7PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. In lieu of flowes, contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
