Robert L. Davis, age 94, of Troy, Ohio and former longtime resident of Xenia, Ohio died Friday, July 8, 2011 at the SpringMeade Health Center, Tipp City, Ohio. He was born November 8, 1916 in Dreyfus, Kentucky to the late Algan and Effie Lee Davis. Bob was married to Lillian M. Wilson who preceded him in death in 2003. Bob is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Carol Davis of Troy; Carl and and Joyce Davis of Athens, Georgia; Dr. Lonnie and Naomi Davis of Troy; grandchildren, Gary Drue Davis of Sandia Park, New Mexico; Brian Davis of Bogart, Georgia; Alan Kim Davis of Columbus; Craig Rebecca Davis of Kettering; Annaliese Davis of Clearwater, Florida; Brooke Davis of Clearwater, Florida; and Eric Lori Davis of Troy; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Lydia Gould of Kettering. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Janice Marshall Davis; granddaughter, Sharon Weyant; sisters, Irene Johnson and Nell Short; and brother, Curt Davis. Bob was a Greene County farmer. He had once been employed with Moraine Box Company in Dayton and was a former ranger with the State of Ohio, John Bryan State Park. He was a retired deputy with the Greene County Sheriff's Department. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy and a former member of the Union Methodist Church in Xenia. Services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Interment will take place in the Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia, Ohio.
