Obituary

Robert E. Cramlet, 80, of Troy and N. Fort Myers, Fla., died Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Edna R. England Cramlet. A son, Alan of Sacramento, California; two daughters, Patricia Matthews of Troy, Janet Harnett of Columbus, Ohio, one brother, Ray Cramlet of Newcomerstown, Ohio and nine grandchildren. He was born in Newcomerstown, Ohio, graduated from Newcomerstown High School and Bliss Business College. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray F. & Cecile L. McCollum Cramlet, of Newcomerstown, Ohio. Mr. Cramlet retired in 1982 as the Executive Vice President of the Troy Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U. S. Army's 104th Infantry Division Timberwolf during World War II in the European Theater of operations. Has served as President of both the National and Ohio State Timberwolf Associations, which have, meet yearly since 1945. He was a past president and life member of Ohio Chamber of Commerce Executives and a member of American Chamber of Commerce Executives. He was a member of Newcomerstown Lone Star lodge 175 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine Temple of Columbus, Miami County Shrine Club, Newcomerstown Elk Lodge 1555 where he was a life member for 50+ years, Past President of Rotary, Newcomerstown, Ohio and a member of Kiwanis, Troy, Ohio. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Troy and has served as Secretary of the Miami Shores Golf Board for 15 years. Services will be Private. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2003 from 5-7PM at Baird Funeral Home. Masonic Services @ 7:00PM, Thursday, August 28, 2003 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shrine's Burns Hospital in Cincinnati. Friends may also express their condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com
