Robert "Bob" Lee Petty, age 48, formerly of Troy; more recently of Yellow Springs, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010. He was born March 24, 1962 in Troy the son of Robert F and Wilma Rose Petty who reside in Troy. In addition to his parents, Bob is survived by a daughter, Amber LeAnne Petty of Urbana; sister, Barbara A. Cole of Troy; aunt, Helen A. Collins of Troy; and close friend, Debbie Petty of Dayton and special musical friends, Mikey "Dread" Monseur, Randy Brown, Wes Reynolds, John "JJ" Jackson, Bill Kurzenbergr, Steve Schwartz, Vince Crain, Sharon Lane, and Danny Sauers. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymer C. and Ethel Petty and Elmer S. and Pearl F. Rose; uncle, Raymer L. Petty and aunt, Ruth L. Sherwood. He was a graduate of Miami East High School and RETS Technical School in Dayton. He was a subcontractor with several Audio/Visual companies in Dayton and the surrounding area and played guitar in area bands such as "Skeleton Crew" and "Half Dead". Music was Bob's life and he made a ripple through hearts and souls of many with his music, wisdom, smiles, and infectious good nature. He will be missed by many and loved by all. Funeral Services will be 7:00PM Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
