Richard "Dick" Swob Richard "Dick" Swob, age 79, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in Carmel. He was born April 21, 1929, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Rose Cron Swob. His first wife, Rita Roof Swob preceded him in death in 1978. He married Charlene Rebich Swob in 1983 and she survives. In addition to his wife, Charlene, Mr. Swob is survived by one son, Jay Swob of San Diego, California; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Kirk Donahue of Carmel, Indiana; two stepdaughters and son-in-law: Laura and Don Moxley of Granville, Ohio, and Elizabeth Laconi of Carmel, Indiana; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy and Paul Kasler of Piqua, Ohio and Barbara and Bob Brigham of Canal Fulton, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Swob was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Rita. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from The Ohio State University. Mr. Swob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, Ohio, the Troy Country Club, Rotary, The President's Club at OSU and the Elks. He was an Ohio Commodore appointed by former Ohio Governor Richard Celeste and a Chair for the Troy Strawberry Festival Golf Tournament. More recently he was a member of Copperleaf Golf Club, Bonita Springs, Florida; Plum Creek Golf Club, Carmel, Indiana; Parkinson's Disease Support Group "Sticks" Indianapolis, Indiana. He served in the US Army from 1952-1954 and retired from Hobart Corporation after 30 years. During last years of employment, Mr. Swob served as President of the Commercial Division of Hobart Corporation. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio, with Brother-in-Law Rev. Robert Brigham officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 1-2PM Saturday, prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Friends may express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
