Richard L. "Dick" Shrake, age 80, of Troy, OH died Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Covington Care Center, Covington, OH. Dick was born November 30, 1928 in Massillon, OH. He was the son of the late Robert G. and Elizabeth Straughn Shrake. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Vosper Shrake; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Guy and Susan Shrake of West Chester, OH and Doug and Joanne Shrake of Westerville, OH; daughter, Beth Shrake of Troy; grandchildren, Collin, Kaitlyn, Laura, Jessica and Christian Shrake; and cousins, Tom Straughn, Jack Straughn, Susan Sandefur and Linda Wise all of the Greater Massillon area. Dick graduated from Massillon High School and attended Dickinson College and Washington-Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Troy and served in Korea in the US Army. Dick was a salesman in the steel industry for most of his career. In later years, he worked at the Erwin Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge Dealership, Troy. Memorial Service will be held 6:30PM Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with private interment at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH. The family will receive friends at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy from 4-6:30PM Friday, June 26, 2009.
