Richard W. Myers, 85, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Koester Pavilion Nursing Home. He was born on September 13, 1918 in Troy, Ohio to the late William W. and Nona May Sayers Myers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah J. Heston Myers on May 23, 2003. He is survived by two children; Michael Richard Lytha Miller Myers of Troy, Ohio and Thomas W. and Letitia Bristley Myers of Bradenton, FL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Ryan Myers of Powell, Ohio and Robb Myers of Durham, N.C. Also two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Lilah Myers. He is survived by a sister, Mildred M. Gurklies of Troy, Ohio. He is preceded in death by a son, Larry Myers; sisters, Dorothy Shanesy and Kathrine Tremblay. Mr. Myers was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WW II; member of the Elks Lodge, Troy; Senior Citizens; and a member of the Quarter Century Club at Hobart Corporation. He retired from the former Troy Sunshade Company Hobart Corp. after 43 years of service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, with a veteran military Honor Guard Service held at the graveside.
