Richard J. Moyer, 79, died at Upper Valley Medical Center on Thursday, February 7, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Madigan Moyer; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Jenni Moyer, John and Ann Moyer, Paul and Julie Moyer, Tom and Ann Moyer, Greg and Dava Moyer; daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Tom Behm, Carol and Dan Wallace; sisters and brothers-in-law: Norma and Carl Wise, Evelyn and Dan Madigan, and Helen DeVilbiss; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond and Ruth Moyer, Betty Moyer and grandchildren: Adam Moyer, Leah Moyer, Chris Behm, Abby Behm, Sarah Moyer, Thomas Moyer, Cory Wallace, Taylor Wallace, Timothy Moyer and Anthony Moyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Henrietta Tecklenburg Moyer; daughter, Mary Ann Moyer Clauss; grandson and brothers, Howard and Robert Moyer. Mr. Moyer was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, Ohio; church Eucharistic Minister and home visitor to parish shut-ins, member of the church Bereavement Committee; member of the Steering Committee for St. Patrick Catholic Parish center and former Parish Council Member. Mr. Moyer was a charter member of Knights of Columbus, Troy, Ohio, He was a US Army WWII Veteran, having served in the Solomon Islands. He was the recipient of the Troy Sertoma Service to Mankind Award in 1995. Mr. Moyer was a 1940 graduate of Troy High School. He retired from Dinner Bell Foods, Troy after 47 years of service and formerly employed with Braun Brothers Packing Company, Troy. Friends may call at Baird Funeral Home from 4-7PM Sunday, February 10. Rosary service will be at 7:00 Sunday at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM Monday, February 11, 2002 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Thomas Brunner. Contributions may be made to St. Patrick School.
