RICHARD H. MONROE SR. Richard H. Monroe Sr., age 80, of New Carlisle, OH passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at his residence. He was born on November 12, 1934 in Otway, OH to the late Linzie and Lucy (Back) Monroe. He was married to Shirlanne Monroe and she preceded him in death in 2004. Richard is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Darlene and Dennis Smith of St. Paris; Sheila and Doug Muncy of Lake Milton; Yvonne and Ronald Williams of New Carlisle and Paula and Michael Bainbridge of New Carlisle; sons and daughters-in-law: Richard H. Monroe Jr. of New Carlisle; Charles and Cyndi Monroe of New Carlisle; Ronald "Red" Monroe of Medway and David and Cheri Monroe of Brownsburg, IN; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Barbara Crane; Paddy and Max Jones; Ruth Cross and Helen Wagner; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Noble Monroe, Venus Cross and Sara Monroe and brothers: Frank Monroe and Bill Wagner. He retired after formerly being employed with Hewitt Soap Company and Dolly Toy. He belonged to the North Dayton Anglers and loved camping and bowling. A memorial service will be held at 7:00PM on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Pastor Mark McVay officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00-7:00PM on Monday at the funeral home.
