Richard W. McMaken of Troy, Ohio died on Wed.,May 12,2004 6:25pm at Harborside Healthcare Center in Troy. He was born September 14, 1914 in Miami County. He was the son of Fred McMaken and Ruth Denman. He was husband to Arline Henson for 42 years who died on January 31, 1979. He is survived by two children, son: Richard W. McMaken Jr., and daughter and son-in law, Judith and Larry Hess; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Mildred McMaken, Forrest and Melba McMaken and Wilbur McMaken, along with numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. A graduate of Piqua High School in 1934, he was a member of the Cove Springs Church; Cove Springs Grange where he was Past Master. He served as referee for area sports leagues. Formerly employed with Wood Shovel, Piqua; Aero-Products in Vandalia and Hobart Arena, he was an area farmer. Memorial contributions may be made to Cove Springs Church or Grange.
