Richard W. Klockner, age 89, of Troy, OH passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Garbry Ridge, Piqua, OH.  Dick was born on December 27, 1928 in Galion, Oh to the late Wilbur and Irene (Garverick) Klockner.  Dick was married to Ruby Ellen (Yount) for 55 years and she preceded him in death on February 27, 2008.

Dick is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law:  Tammy and John Shellhaas and Kris and Larry Fields all of Troy; grandchildren: Katie (Andrew) Gaier of Troy, Ben (Meckenzie) Shellhaas of Pickerington, Betsy (Jared Wullenweber) Shellhaas of Troy, Olivia (Alec) Daniels of Troy; step granddaughter: Tricia (Kent) Taylor of Germantown; great grandchildren: Emma, Benjamin Jr., Owen, Quinn, Hudson, Reagan, Hallie, and Oliver.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by his brother: Kenny Klockner.

Dick was a graduate of Galion High School.  He continued on to graduate from The University of Cincinnati in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying.  He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy; Franklin Lodge #14 F&AM, Troy; Antioch Shrine Temple, Dayton; and Elks Lodge, Troy.

He owned and operated Klockner & Associates of Troy. Dick was on the Board of Directors for Peoples Building & Savings and Loan. He was recognized as a Distinguished Citizen by Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and was Grand Marshall for the Troy Strawberry Festival Parade in 1999. He was also a member of Home Builders Association, where he received a lifetime achievement award.  Dick and his wife, Ruby, supported many events and organizations in the community.

Services will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Rev. Lauren Allen officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00PM on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 with Masonic Services at 7:00PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County P.
