Richard W. James, age 74 of Troy died Sunday, July 22, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents,Albert and Amanda Rickey James; first wife, JoAnn Hirsch James; two brothers, John and William James; two sisters, Mary Gorrell and Edna Bond; one son, Dennis James and grandson, John James Sandison. He is survived by his wife, Karen S. Payne; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer James and Neal Severt; Penny England and Brad Baker; Susan England and William Ison; Charlotte and Fred Knoop; sons, Richard James and Eldridge '' Butch '' James; brother, Carl James; sisters, Bertha Packman; Nellie White; Ida Phyillaier; Grace Rudisill; Esther Webster and Donna Thompson; brother-in-law, John Payne; sisters-in-law, Shirley Persinger; Patty Lambert; Linda Payne and Barbara Arnett; 23 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, WWII US Army Veteran and former member of the Troy Church of the Nazarene. He attended Troy Schools and was a retired truck driver.
