Obituary

Richard H. Flory, born in Troy, Ohio passed away in Yelm, Washington in February 2010. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan and by his son Ty Flory wife Kathleen and his grandchildren, Tryhena and Colwnyn Flory. Other surviving relatives are an aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews in Troy and in Sidney, Ohio and in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Elvie and Charles Flory, brother Carl and sister Virginia Burns Small. Lefty as many called him, graduated from Troy High School in 1948, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team. He also spent some time playing semi-pro baseball and attended Miami University in Ohio for a year. Richard was in the Air Force for 4 years. He and Joan settled in Yucaipu California where their son was born and where he later operated a custom cabinet shop. The moved to Yelm, Washington in 1970 and opened "Flory's Cabinets" there. Richard and his wife subsequently his son and his family became Jehovah's Witnesses in 1957. He served in the congregation as an Elder for the past 50 years. Services were held in Washington.
