Richard L. ''Dick'' Scherer Sr., age 71, of Piqua, Ohio died Thursday, January 5, 2006. Born of the late Homer Fisher and Dorothy Gallahue Fisher in Lima, Ohio. He was preceeded in death by his adoptive parents, Ray and Elsie Scherer. He is survived by his wife, Sara K. Chaney Scherer of 34 years; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jeri Scherer Jr., Scott Potter, Ed Potter, Russell and Dawn Scherer, daughters and sons-in-law, Dee Dee and Ron Steiniker and Robin and Roger Naseman; sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Dick Krauss; Grandchildren, Jennifer, Shon, Holly, Josh, Richard III, Kimberly, Brandon, Joseph, Nikki, Brooklyn, Brielle and Keelan; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Kyle, Michael, and Christopher. A member of the Piqua Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
