Richard T. "Rich" Canan Richard T. "Rich" Canan, age 51, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 3:22AM on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Upper Valley Medical Center, ER, Troy. He was born on June 7, 1959 in Troy to the late Robert A. and Thelma Welbaum Canan. His wife of 24 years, Linda S. Mowbray Canan, survives. In addition to his wife, Rich is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Bradley T. and Andrea Lechner Canan of Englewood, Ohio, Gregory D. and Kendal Cross Merrill of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Erik R. Canan of Troy; daughter and son-in-law: Jessika N. Canan Snyder and David Snyder of Troy; brother, John W. Allen of Troy; two grandsons: Brady T. Canan and Caleb G. Merrill; and beloved dog, Nacho. Rich was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert E. Canan. He was a 1978 graduate of Troy High School. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Redmens Lodge and was an avid bowler. Rich was employed with Hobart Brothers Company with 26 years of service. Services will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Thursday at the funeral home with Redmens Lodge Service.
