RICHARD E. BOAK, age 99, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Caldwell House in Troy.  He was born in Piqua on September 13, 1917 to the late Charles and Ida Jones.  Richard was lovingly raised by the late Judd and Ruth Boak.

Richard is survived by his wife of 72 years: Nancy (Garwood) Boak; one son: Doug (Lisa) Boak of Troy; one daughter: Teresa L. (Mark) Watson of Austin, TX; two grandchildren: Stephanie (Michael) Randazzo and Megan (Troy) Kitchen; and two great grandchildren: Andrew and Alex Randazzo.  In addition to both sets of his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, sisters and granddaughter: Katherine Watson.

Richard was a graduate of Troy High School.  He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during WW II.  Richard was a member of Nashville United Church of Christ and a lifetime member of Troy BPOE Post 833.  He was the owner of City Transfer and Storage in Troy.

Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with his nephew, Rev. Max Jackson, officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
