Rebecca Reigh (Burnett) Friend, age 66, of Troy, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 16, 2023.  She was born on March 17, 1957 in Bluffton, OH to the late Ernest A. and Sarah L. (Amstutz) Burnett.

She is survived by her husband of 40-plus years of marriage: D. Douglas Friend; sons: Derrick D. Friend of Archbold, OH and Korry K. Friend of Indianapolis, IN; brothers and sisters-in-law: Marvin K. (Kathy) Burnett of Archbold, OH and Kevin D. (Joni) Burnett of Ft. Myers, FL; brother-in-law: Brian Friend of Sidney, OH and nieces and nephews: Lindsay, Chase, Drew and Lucas.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Ernest A. Burnett II.

She was a 1975 graduate of Paulding High School and attended The Ohio State University.  She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Troy and was the handbell director.  She was a past PTO President for Hook Elementary School.  She was also the head uniform mom for the Troy High School Marching Band for eight years.  She worked with her husband, Doug's optometry practice and also Riverside School.

There will be no public service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County or the American Cancer Society.
