RAY POTTER, age 78, of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Koester Pavilion in Troy.  He was born on May 17, 1939 in Greenup County, KY to the late Marion C. Potter and Ida M. (Rose) Potter Swank.

Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy L. (McCandliss) Potter of Troy; one step daughter: Beth (Michael) Hart of Troy; one step son: Kirk (Claudine) Waymire of Dayton; six step grandchildren: Regina Harmon, Emily Harmon, Aaron Hart, Logan Hart, Sara (Charlie) Hacker and Jamie (Brittany) Waymire; two step great grandchildren: Holden Waymire and Olivia Waymire; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Willard Potter, Elwood Potter and Charles Potter.

Ray was a former custodian at Troy Junior High School.  He had also been employed at Decker Meat Packing in Piqua.

Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
