Ray Davis, Jr. Ray Davis, Jr., age 72, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 11:04PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on February 27, 1936 in Troy to the late Ray Davis and Faye Stoltz Shrader. His wife of 52 years, Shirley Allen Davis, survives. He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Julie and Rob Williams and Debi and Kevin Jacobs all of Troy; one sister, Janet Wintrow of Troy; two brothers: Tony Riffell of Piqua, Ohio and Dale Davis of Melbourne, Florida; and three grandchildren: Daniel Williams, Chelsea Williams and Abby Jacobs. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Elifritz and Delores Jean Holfinger, and one brother, Donald Davis. He was a 1954 graduate of Troy High School. Ray loved his wife, his family and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, walking, cross country skiing and cutting wood. He also loved good music, good friends and good food. He had a passion for cooking and was an excellent cook. He cherished spending time at his home in the North Woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula more than anything in the world. He attended Troy Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose and Fraternal Eagles, Troy. He retired from Transworld Airlines in Vandalia after 36 years of service. A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM Monday, March 2, 2009 at Troy Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Ron Barber officiating. Friends may call from 4:30-6:00PM Monday at the church.
