Obituary

Ralph F. Patton Ralph F. Patton, 73, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, May 8, 2008, at his residence. He was born September 29, 1934, in Galax, Virginia, to the late Otto and Rosie Ellen Patton Patton. His wife of 52 years, Barbara Peake Patton, survives. He is also survived by two daughters: Suzanne Caroots and Debbie Patton both of Troy; four grandchildren: Andy Caroots, Matthew Windel-Caroots, Chad Cremeans and Kristy Harvey all of Troy; and four great-grandchildren: J.D. Harvey, Ashton Cremeans, Roslyn Cremeans and Liam Cremeans all of Troy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Patton was preceded in death by one sister, Hattie Galyean and three brothers: Paul, Harvey and James Patton. He was a past member of the Troy Moose Lodge and of the Troy Eagles #871. He served in the US Army during peacetime and was released from active military service on May 30, 1962. Mr. Patton also owned and operated Premiere Communications in Dayton, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 7:30PM Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Friends may call from 4PM to the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Vaughan-Gyunn Funeral Home, Galax, Virginia from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with funeral services at 1:00PM. Burial will be at Patton Cemetery, Galax, Virginia with Military Honors at graveside. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373.
