R. Murray Dalton, age 74 of Troy, Ohio died Thursday, January 3, 2002 at his residence. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph W. and Cornelia Kleinschroedt Dalton and his wife, Marylou Streeter Dalton. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, R. Drew and Deonna Dalton and granddaughter, Kennedy Chandler Dalton. He is a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ of Troy where he served on a variety of board positions; member of Troy Kiwanis Club; 1997 recipient of the Jaycees Distinguished Citizen Award; board member of the Troy Foundation; Lincoln Community Center; Troy Historical Society; Troy Museum Board and Troy Hayner Cultural Center and former board member of the Upper Valley Joint Vocational School and Troy School Boards. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. A 1944 graduate of Troy High School where he served as class president. A graduate of Miami University where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Kappa Tau, Beta Gamma Sigma and Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was employed as V. President of Ralph W. Dalton and Associates, retiring as owner of Dalton and Associates serving surrounding area in advertising for more than 50 years.
