Quintella Tillie DeWeese Johnston, age 92, died Saturday February 19, 2011 at Springmeade Healthcenter. She was born November 25, 1918 to George W. and Florence Brown DeWeese in Troy, Ohio. Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond C. Johnston in 1964, three sisters, Bettie Neikirk, Lois Matthews, Peg Trostle and one brother, George Gus Coleman DeWeese. She is survived by son, Thomas K. Johnston of Troy, daughter, Janelle Davis-Millhouse and son-in-law Rodney Millhouse of Tipp City, sister-in-law, Elizabeth A. DeWeese and brother-in-law, Donald Trostle. Tillie also has five grandchildren; Michael Scott Davis and wife Allison of Tacoma, Washington, Seth D. Davis and wife Kacey of Columbus, OH, Benjamin R. Johnston, Samantha H. Johnston and Elizabeth Macy. There are four great-grandchildren, Stephen, Samuel, Andrew and Madison Davis of Tacoma, WA, and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Colin Macy. Tillie was a 1936 graduate of Troy High School and lifelong member of The First United Church of Christ in Troy. Tillie retired from Hobart Corporation in 1985 with 25 years of service, and after retirement worked in the office of Galbreath Realty. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday February 23, 2011 at The First United Church of Christ, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Stephanie Haines officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Contributions may be made to The First United Church of Christ, Troy, Ohio in her memory.
