IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis
Shaughnessy
April 21, 1918 – May 19, 2014
Phyllis Shaughnessy, 95 years old, passed away calmly early Monday morning, May 19. Phyllis was the daughter of Frank Rogers Shaughnessy, from Boston area and Grace Bohlander Shaughnessy who was born and raised in Piqua. Phyllis was born in Royal Oak, Michigan where her father worked for the Dodge Brothers Automobile Company.
When she was 3 years old her family returned to Troy, Ohio and her parents re founded the Tip-Top Potato Chip Company. Phyllis attended the Troy schools and then trained to be a practical nurse. During her career she worked for the Hobart Manufacturing Company, had the Blue Goose Rooming House on Market Street and always was caring for her family and friends. Phyllis was always a very giving generous person. To her nieces and nephews she could never do enough. She gave us our first sled, wagon and a 5 year subscription to Donald Duck Comic books! All of our friends were jealous. She was a devout Christian and lived the life of a caring, giving lady. With her busy work life she always had time to bake something special for visiting family or friends. Cakes, pies and candy were her specialties! All of us who knew her have nothing but loving wonderful memories of our times with her. She was what a Christian was supposed to be. She more than earned her Peace.
