Phyllis Curtis Phyllis Curtis, age 87, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 11:25PM on Monday, September 14, 2009 at her residence. She was born on November 4, 1921 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Raymond and Agnes Freihofer Lawrence. She married Marvin E. Curtis on August 22, 1953 in Piqua, Ohio, and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Judith and Richard Ritchey of Troy; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Douglas Curtis of Troy, Joseph and Monica Curtis of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren: Brian Ritchey and Jennifer Ritchey both of Los Angeles, California and Abigail John Goldfarb and Chelsea Curtis all of Columbus, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren: Henry Cowden Kress of Los Angeles and Lilly Goldfarb of Columbus. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Jim Lawrence and one sister, Bea Lee. She graduated from Piqua High School. She was a member and taught Sunday School at the First United Church of Christ, Troy. Phyllis worked in the cafeteria at Troy Jr. High and High Schools for 20 years before retiring in 1984. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 17, 2009 in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio with Sean Lawrence officiating.
