Philip D. Welbaum, age 90, of Tipp City, OH passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at his residence.  He was born on December 9, 1926 in Troy, OH to the late Hobart and Marguerite (Dye) Welbaum.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Vivian M. (Frantom) Welbaum; children: Terry Snook; Daniel (Carolyn) Welbaum; Guy Welbaum and Lisa (Mike) Oldham all of Troy; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers: Gilbert Welbaum and Gary (Inez) Welbaum both of Troy; sister: Janet Jo Thompson of NC and brother-in-law: Herbert Wintrow of Troy.

In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by siblings:  Kenneth Welbaum, Deanna Tamerman, Fred Welbaum, Roger Welbaum, Jean Waldheim, Nancy Wintrow and Gordon Welbaum.

Philip his served his country in the US Army during WWII.  He was a longtime farmer and retired 46 years of service with AO Smith Company.  Philip was a 1950 graduate of Hobart ARC Welding School.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling and golfing.  He was a true family man and loved his family deeply.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00PM at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
